About Afrochia

Afrochia was born in July 2020 after an serendipitous encounter with an old friend. I asked him what he was doing these days and he replied "I grow chia seeds". To my surprise none of his produce was sold in the local stores! Worse, some shops were selling imported chia seeds from Mexico.

Most people don't know this but chia means "Strength" in Mayan. We decided to create a strong chia seeds brand deeply rooted in Rwanda; we source our organic chia seeds from local farmers in Rulindo and Gashora a few kilometers from Kigali.

We rely on a network of brand ambassadors to promote the health benefits of chia seeds all over the country.
